Claim backlog to reach 1 million in 2009
Rep. John Hall, D-Dover Plains, chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance, reports a backlog of 830,000 veterans' claims in 2007 and predicts that number will rise to over 1 million in 2009 if the present system is not remedied.
