PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Eleven years ago, retired marine Bob Kahaly was diagnosed with incurable cancer

The 52-year-old Marine, who has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, visits a doctor several times a week and lives on disability.

Dr. Joseph Warner, a neurologist, has seen Kahaly's symptoms for years and is convinced toxins are responsible for his patient's numerous medical problems.

"More likely than not," he said.

Contaminated water between 1957 and 1987 at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina where Kahaly was stationed, has the Veterans Administration reaching out to Marines like Kahaly, who were potentially exposed to toxic chemicals.

But for years, Kahaly said his claims for benefits and disability were denied. Finally, in October, he got a letter informing him that he won an appeal for 100 percent disability."
